Terms & Condtions

1. I, Louise Archer, trading under the name "A Day in the Past" am self employed and responsible for my own tax and NI contributions. By booking me you enter a contract for services and agree to abide to the following T&C. You also agree to pay the agreed upon fees within 30 days of the invoice date.

2. Prices quoted are for the service I provide, any additional costs (i.e. travel, or additional craft material) will be agreed upon at the time of booking. The price covers myself being at your setting with my equipment and resources for the agreed amount of time (1-2hours for pre-schools, 3 hours for KS1)

3. As I am self-employed there is nobody else who could take my place. Therefore in the case of me being unable to attend a booked session, due to illness of myself or of my own children, travel limitations, adverse weather etc. I will inform you at the earliest possible time and will, if possible, re-arrange for the soonest available date. If no such date can be found, no fees will be incurred by you. Equally should you need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (disease outbreak, flooding, weather etc.) the day before a visit, you will not incur any costs, cancellation on the day however will incur the full cost, even if no re-placement date can be found.

4. I can cater for up to 20 children in pre-school sessions and up to 90 in KS1. For the KS1 visits it would be best to have smaller groups for some of the activities.

5. Invoices will be sent out after the visit has taken place. Usually they will be posted within 1 week of the visit, and should be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.

6. I was CRB checked in 2014 when volunteering for the local pre-school committee. I have public liability insurance for up £5,000,000 cover, the certificate will be included with confirmation email along with the CRB certificate.

7. Travel is included for up to 10 miles (20 miles round trip) from CB24 4SN, any miles over that are charged at £0.30/mile. Any additional costs such as road tolls or parking will also be charged.

8. Besides fun and learning, the safety of the children is paramount. All weapon props are blunt, and I have a risk assessment for the school visit.

9. I expect the qualified teacher / teaching assistant to be present at all times during my sessions. Parent volunteers are welcome to be present and help with some of the activities. I do not expect to be left unattended with the children at any time.

10. I can suggest food / cooking ideas to you, should you wish to offer this. However food needs to be bought by your setting, and any preparation and associated health & safety and food hygiene will be your responsibility.

11. I currently drive a van, so please let me know in advance if there will be any issues with access or parking.
